Useful Information for Travelers to ICML 2010

Haifa, the venue for ICML 2010 might be new to many of you. So we thought of assembling some necessary information at one place.

Passport and Visa

You must hold a Passport that is valid at least for 6 months from the date you land in Israel.

If you are from EU or the US, you do not need a visa to come to Israel. For other countries, you should get in touch with your travel agent, Israeli embassy or consulate to find out how you can get a visa for Haifa. Feel free to contact the conference secretariat for a letter of invitation, if that will assist you in obtaining your visa.

Comprehensive Insurance

You should get a comprehensive travel insurance before starting your trip. The conference organizers and/or travel organizers will not be liable for any loss or damage that you may sustain during the conference or trip to Jerusalem.

Money Matters

The official currency of Israel is New Israeli Shekel (NIS). You can get your currency exchanged at airport, bank, post office, most of the hotels, and licensed exchange. Most of the establishment accept international credit cards. You can even use these cards to withdraw NIS or USD.

Nearest AirportBen Gurion International Airport is the main international airport of Israel. It is almost 115 kilometers from Haifa and well connected by rail and road.
